Hi everyone.
I have recently installed a bath unit but in the process of doing so part of the plaster board has got damaged.
One of the reasons for replacing the bath was that it wasn't sealed very well so we knew there was a leak coming from it. This meant that the wall was a bit damp anyway.
Seems a bit strange that it is just a rectangular part of the wall that has crumbled.
If you can see the picture I uploaded you might be able to see what I mean.
Any suggestions for how to fix?

Thanks you

Once water gets in to plasterboard it will destroy it and become crumbly.
This maybe the case for the for the remaining plasterboard beneath the bath.
You have a couple options, the wall looks to be battened or studded. You can cut to nearest fixing points and replace with a cut of plasterboard or alternatively, if you are not over concerned about replacing the water damaged areas, you could repair hole by removing loose/damaged area and fill out with bonding coat and skim over.

Thanks for your reply. I was thinking about using plaster board but I might try just filling it and skimming over as that should be easier. Thanks
