Damp below window and adjacent walls

Hi all,

I've finally taken the wall back to brick where we could see there was damp coming through. The damp was there when we bought the house and it looks like someone has previously put some 'special damp proof plaster on'...

From the images, you can see it's pretty dry below the centre of the window but damp towards the outside, which there are adjoining walls (tangential?).

I'm wondering if it's penetrating damp from the join of the walls outside and needs repointing, or something more? Thanks in advance!

Poorly sealed window frame and growth on the wall will prevent the adjacent wall drying after rain allowing penetration of damp.

Thanks @foxhole ! Not sure if it is the window frame just looking where the damp is, but the growth might be playing a part.

Is the soil pipe damaged seems to be staining around it, are gutters clear?

No damage to the soil pipe. The sloped window doesn't have guttering so it might be the case!
