what is the best plan of action for a solid brick wall that has been saturated by an overflow leaking for the last few months,it has also soaked the floor and one plastered wall ? is it best to let it dry out slowly lor some other method?

yup.
 
If you need to use the room, then hire a dehumidifyer.
letting it dry slowly isn't any help. except that it is warm weather and it'll be ok to leave it to it's own devices probably.
 
No don't force dry it, it could lead to fractures if it tries to dry too quick.
