Preparing to have new windows installed and noticed a damp patch that runs the length of the French doors, has caused minor rot to either sides skirting. Also on the exterior there's no filler under the doors.

Anything i can do to resolve this or do you think when the new windows are properly installed it will resolve this as i plan to have a treadboard installed where the damp in the pictures is.

Possibly cavity filled without DPM? If so can this be fixed after the fact?

You won't really know until they take the doors out and you can have a look. Probably condensation where your floor insulation ends, if you have any. Or a cold bridge. If feasible, ask them to take out the door, then go and fit some of the other windows while you take a look.

If you find an issue then you can get creative and sort out a fix before they put the new door in. You could ask them but it might not be in their remit, they might let you borrow their expanding foam though.

Are you sure that is damp (water staining)?

Actually after checking it more, we believe its just some adessive used to stick down the underlay, as the dark pattern is very even and square and doesnt seem to have the shape of how damp would look, also doesnt feel wet on the floor or the underlay, and as for the rot on the skirting board we believe thats due to the poor french doors that were replacing anyways, but to be sure im going to put down some liquid damp proofing paint aswell as anti mould paint behind either sides skirting.
