Damp wall, chimney removed

Advice please
We have noticed high damp readings around this blocked fireplace, chimney removed
After investigation the remaining stack was full of debris & potentially blocked with cement
We cleared the debris by hand & there is now strong air draw/draft
Will this help with the damp?
