Hi Folks

After recently decorating my box room and moving my eldest son in there, Ive been getting quite a lot of damp round the windows and condensation. I've wiped it all away but it keeps coming back and sometimes there is a damp smell in there. we have the heating on at night but leave the bedroom door open in the day, and even have the widow open when it's not frickin freezin. I have inherited a rather decent dehumidifier, which i've had on in there and it extracted just over half a pint in a couple of hours. My house was built in the 50's and has an air brick in the top corner of the room, which lets in quite a lot of cold air.

Finally my question, should i block the air brick up(as having the dehumifier on seems pointless) or is there something else i should be doing. :?:

I had similar problem but didn't not have any air bricks in the room.
So installed two, one near ceiling height and one lower near skirting and it did the trick.
So I might consider installing another air brick at a lower height just above the skirting. So you then have two

Ditch the expensive dehumidifer and add more ventilation [free] or you will have more condensation.
