Just about to buy a house with some damp issues.

The whole donstairs has a concreate floor that appears to be rising up is several places.

I've noticed that there is damp on several walls including the internal wall that seperates the dinning room and living room. Now the exteria bricks look ok but i've no idea that the damp course is there or working.

Is it likley that the damp is rising up via the concreate floor and into the walls?

In which case you would be wise to have the floor investigated for sulphate attack - which would also be a reason for damp issues ..... and unfortunately may prevent you getting a mortgage on it
