Story goes boiler fires up when asked, programmer replaced ( 4 other reason) stat tested ok, hot water all works ok.

One day house all cold, check all above all ok, friend advised me to push over the lever on the motorized valve as soon as I did this the boiler fires up with only the c/heating on great I thought, but now the valve sounds a bit on the duff side. Its a 3 way. Main question is can i replace the head only or dose it need a new unit.

Many thanks for any advise.

When the head is removed check the spindle on the divertervalve body. If this is difficult to turn I would change the body as well.
Cheers Chrishutt missed that.

the make is danfoss as well..
good places to buy just the head only

thanks for replys

i would buy the whole lot..valve bit as well from screwfix......

thereby ensuring, your marriage will break up , you will have to give the house to the missus, and end up in a log cabin somewhere that has a pot belly stove, and you will be able to put the valve part on the mantle piece and reflect.."why did i post that question on diynot.com?"

:D

check their web site danfoss-randall.co.uk it helped me out with my motorized valve problem. I contacted their technical section they were really helpful
