A friend of a friend of mine is having an extension done. I happen to go have a look and here's some pics:
Among other things, the've no insulation in certain parts of exterior walls. They have a 10inch(or so) steel sitting on a 4 inch wall, and have used a 3x2 to pack up one side.
They're using some kind of roofing sheet to pack up the steels and brickwork above, never seen anyone use it before but it looks like aspestos sheet, cement board!!
The work people get away with in this country is incredible. Spoken to building control, it's a private inspector who supposedly overseeing the job.
Do anyone know the regulations for how far a steel has to overhand onto the pillar? they're like 3 inches on this job. And they're out of level 3 inches across the length as well.
