Are you aware of how many were arrested? Are you aware of the widespread abuse of process?

About 175 out of well over 1000 were ABH / GBH offences.

So he got it it right for 90% of them.
You're conveniently avoiding aiding and abetted.

Even so still a big error, at 10% even on your figures.

You could say Trump got it wrong

Here's the first one in the list of charges on Wikipedia:

Federal: Civil Disorder; Assaulting ... Certain Officers; Entering ... Restricted Building or Grounds with a Deadly or Dangerous Weapon; Disorderly ... Restricted Building or Ground with a Deadly or Dangerous Weapon; Engaging in Physical Violence in a Restricted Building or Grounds; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm on Capitol Grounds or Buildings; Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building; Act of Physical Violence in the Capitol Grounds or Buildings; Carrying a Pistol Without a License Outside Home or Place of Business; Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device

If a rioter in the UK in possession of a gun smashed his way into Parliament, with the intent of overthrowing the government, what charges and sentence might he expect?

A former Virginia National Guard member, Alberts, 35, of Pylesville, Maryland, wore body armor, gas mask, military gear, and was armed with a 9-millimeter pistol — loaded with hollow point and high-pressure rounds — and brought an extra magazine of ammunition on Jan. 6th. Alberts was the first rioter to reach the northwest steps outside the Capitol and he used a wooden pallet as a makeshift battering ram against police officers who were guarding a stairwell outside the Capitol.

I’m not avoiding it. But it’s not straight forward.

Do you reject that the majority of the 1000+ were guilty of public order offences?

Perhaps if the prosecution hadn’t tried to fit many of them up for crimes that didn’t fit, there wouldn’t have been a reason for trump to take action.

Do you have examples of some of the most common crimes which didn't fit?

It's not something I have followed.

In the few cases I have looked at just now of the more serious offences, I would actually say the sentences were pretty lenient.

Many were protestors who were unlawfully occupying a government building.

Does it matter that they were there as part of a violent riot where 150 police officers were injured? I am just trying to compare with the riot laws here in the UK. Also does it matter whether they were there with the intention of overthrowing the government?

It wasn't just any old government building though was it. The murdering mob were looking to hang Pelosi and possibly Mike Pence, whilst Trump stood in his office cheering them on. A lot had weapons, cable ties were found on the rioters and even bombs were made.

It was a full on seditious riot.

The majority were guilty. Of various crimes. All should be treated individually don't you think

Any examples ?

Some support law and order.

Some support Trump.

Can't do both
