Hi everyone,

Long time reader of the forums and, as the name suggests, not exactly a pro when it comes to DIY.

Can anyone help me with a problem?

We're about to redecorate our entire house. Although my DIY experience is limited, when undertaking this job in the past, I've found myself to be quite severely allergic to the solvents in paint strippers.
I've also been reading a lot about DCM lately, with next year's ban, and as I like to consider myself as being pretty "eco friendly", was wondering if there's anything out there that doesn't contain DCM's?

Is there a good, reliable alternative to solvent-based paint strippers on the market?

Any help you can offer would be great!

Thanks,

Chris.

He could have had the decency to give me a free sample. I'm stripping off varnish from a handrail and bannister and it's murder.
