As result of part of our solid wooden maple floor lifting it has been decided to lift the existing floor and replace with a new solid wood floor. The current floor is nailed to a marine-ply type base and then what I would assume some sort of visqueen sheeting that sits on top of a solid concrete base.
2 questions:
What should we be looking for from a flooring contractor in the preparation of the concrete sub-floor ie. what needs to be done before any similar marine ply type base is applied.
Secondly, the floor being lifted remains in good condition, any suggestions for de-nailing from the grooves as we would like to re-lay it elsewhere over a parkett floor that has had its day.
