Dealing with awkward people

It's a happy thread with no arguments. You can't help yourself can you. People not in your team enjoying themselves with some banter. Seriously, get a life mate.
Exactly this mate. Some folk just like drama and making waves over nothing

Basically admitting a reportable accident and probably an H&S offence.
It all depends on the situation as to whether or not we barrier off footpaths and roads, we can cause more of a danger in doing so if we direct people onto a busy road. Also we have to consider whether it is a busy street or not. It isnt obvious the lampis full of water but just a common occurance. Even so we use our own discretion and risk assesment for each job, we do not close off all roads and footpaths all of the time

Well I apologised as asked to do, I gave her the voucher for her hair to be done, I simply said what style I think would suit her and started talking about her bone structure and asking what style she would like as the one at the moment isnt the most flattering for her. My manager kicked me which was our pre arranged secret sign for me to be quiet. So the hair voucher I thought a success

A choice between a free rinse and getting run over isn’t a real choice. Looking at Tom Nargy’s YT videos - and reading between the lines- highway electrics only make money by selectively applying the rules

~We are a National company that runs the UK roads, we don't have any constrainsts that a contractor has. We make the rules and as such we are trained in every aspect of road working, its a lot more complex than meets the eye. Contractors are given work we don't want to do ourselves and take up the overflow. They cannot make their own rules and so are governed by our rules. Unfortunately they have to make money at this. Road working is a very expensive business, they make enough to make it pay by playing by our rules, if they are caught breaking them then they lose contracts.
