Hi all,

Just before I embark on the project I have looked into the regulations, and just wanted to get views from people on this forum.

My garden is 10.65 by 7.25 so 77.25 sq m

I know you are not allowed to let decking exceed 50% of the general grass/garden area, and from what I'm aiming to deck I'll still have 55% as grass/dirt/non decked. So all good there.

What I am aiming to put decking on is existing patio, which is already on a slab about 40cm high. The slab has been there 30+ years, and is essential due to the drop from the back door to my grass level.

My decking will literally be dropped onto this patio, and will therefore not go more than a few inches above it.

Can I proceed without planning permission?

Thanks.

Yes agree sounds Ok height wise, would be prudent to take a few 'before' pictures though, just in case.
