Decking & water ingress issue

Hi all

I'm having issues with water getting into my kitchen door track (happening as I type) and I'm trying to address it in every way possible - I've cleaned out the weep holes (potentially having another drilled in) and I'm having a slightly loose rain deflector properly attached today. Also having the gutters cleaned next week.

The other issue I have is the height of the decking. It was installed before I moved in and it's been installed over the cill. Hopefully the attached pictures are clear enough. I want rid of the decking long-term but I'm not currently in a position to do that. In the short-term - would I viable solution be to quite literally cut out the section of the decking that is over the cill, in order to fully expose the cill and (hopefully) allow water to drain off?

Either remove that whole length of deck board next to the door/wall or cut out that section next to the door, if you don't care about appearances you could make a hole big enough (or use a few smaller ones in a line), then use a suitable saw like a jab saw to cut through the rest of the board. Or use a multitool if you have one or can borrow one.

How are the deck boards fixed down? Can't see any fixings so maybe they're fixed with hidden fixings ....

They're screwed in but very well hidden and the boards take some serious getting up.

I'm not convinced that's actually the issue, as it doesn't seem to be pooling in between the board and the door threshold, but it's still clearly no good and now how they should be.

Appearance is definitely the least of my concerns right now..

1)if it is water pooling in the door threshold that is the problem then thats nothing to do with the decking

I would check how well the door fits when closed -are the rubber seals nicely compressed all the way up?

the main problem is that the aluminum bottom door drip doesnt extend far enough -water is simply runnin down the door and over the drip then hitting the frame ovolo moulding then running back in -try a watering can with a rose and see if its the culprit -if so get a bigger one -it could even be fitted the wrong way around, its hard to tell from the pics


2) decking issue -I cant tell heights from the images but theres obv some terracotta tiles which are either a step or an external cill -they look like they finish too high to me. Anyway you need to have a look at them -if they are trapping water then maybe take some out

Decking could cause the rain to splash the threshold constantly soaking it.
