Hi

As you know im having my house skimmed,

Will it cause me a problem if paint before i put my skirtings and covin on?

Also ive never put coving on- gonna put plaster covin up- what happens if the corners are out- which they prob will be. can I plane them in?

Purely from a selfish decorators point of view id rather the skirtings and coving go on last..youl have a neater cleaner line and the woodwork wont be smothered in plaster residue and slurry.

Plasterers ive come across seem to prefer the skirtings on to 'give them a line...personally I think they should be able to do this anyway.

Ive yet to see it done neatly...

Thanks again Zampa

Ive taken all the skirtings off and had planned to paint the walls and put the skirtings on and covings after but wondered if this would cause a problem for stickin the coving and skirtings on- will they be able to stick??

Was thinking of getting primed mdf skirtings how do i decorate them?

Thanks Mate

Personally Im not keen on the primed skirtings I find them a bout rough and still need a fair amount of rubbing down first in the hollows of the curves where it furs up..once this is done give it a quick primer and then finish in whatever paint you fancy.
