Hi , hope someone can help!
Installing a Mira event XS thermostatic power shower.
Having trouble with getting a dedicated cold water supply to shower from cold water tank in loft.

Instructions state that the feed must be for the shower only, coming straight from the tank and 25mm min below the feed pipe going to the Hot Water Cylinder.

Can't do this as the HW Cylinder feed pipe is right at the bottom of the CW tank. What are the problems with tee'ing this pipe off and sending a feed to shower? What other alternatives are there?

Any help appreciated!! (p.s. keep it simple - I'm no plumbing expert!!)

Cheers

I think the reason for this is to ensure that in the event you empty the tank (ball valve or mains failure) the hot supply fails before the cold, preventing anyone in the shower from getting a scalding.

Why not create a new hot water feed 25mm above (to left or right) of the current one then re-use current feed as the cold feed for your shower. A little more work, but not much.
