Definative answer please? Solid wood flooring to chipboard

Several hours of searching has given us conflicting advice on whether solid wood flooring requires an underlay before we can lay it on top of chipboard? many say Nooo, many say you can.

We bought Diall's flooring adhesive for wooden floors and aware that once they are down that's it.

so, just to confirm, we CAN glue and we DONT need underlay???
