Indeed so Dave, I have a plug socket and its done well for the three cars I've recently changed plugs.

I found a local 2nd shop that does garage clearances and I've picked up a lot of good kit recently.

With the Primera 1.8 engine, the plug is at the bottom of a deep hole that acts as a guide so you can't really cross the thread.

When putting the new plugs in, twist the plug in with your fingers on the socket extension bar. A few turns and you know its not cross threaded.

If you putting old plugs back in, clean any carbon of the threads. A clean thread is much easier. (just my experience)

Ever tried soaking used spark plugs in cellulose thinners? Gets all the oil off the threads and the ceramic and softens carbon deposits. Only do it on my mower and strimmer these days .
