Do I need eaves on my detached unheated garage. A roofer told me that sometimes gutters cause more problems. I also have a weeping bed for my septic system at the back of my garage where the downspouts will be. Is it okay to have all the water flowing so near the weeping bed?

I also need to replace the shingles ...... should I use ice and water shield on the bottom 3 feet?

I like the name weeping bed for your septic tank "soakaway" I`ve seen some and my eyes watered ;) . I would keep water from down (pipes) spouts away from bed , you don`t want too much flooding around there. I`d go with the roofer`s advice , unless the water splashing and making mud up the wall is a problem. No idea about the shingles, not used much in South UK.
