Not used any of them but wise choice on the saw if you do a lot of trenching, half lapping, type stuff then you should be well pleased, definitely the best saw, short of a full on radial arm, that I have used for that.

i toyed between the dw712 qnd the dw708 and went for the dw708 in the ned, only because it is large enough to cut through sleepers when im doing my landscape work. Cant complain about any of their tools and ive certainly found the dw708 to be very robust and accurate as well as easy to use, so i would think the dw712 is in the same mould

I have a DW 707 and many other DW machines. Whilst I have no wish to promote any one product I have never had a problem with them.

As long as the deals offered from the various companies on the DW saws are the same i.e. guarentees, inc. bits then go for the cheapest price. I have found new machines sold on Ebay from bona fida shops to be the keenest priced. But what do I know!!

thanks for your replies gents

make a few frame and ledger gates and quite a lot off stable doors with half lap joints so it beats a tennon saw or indead the table saw minus gaurd[yes dodgy i know hense the 712 ;) ]

if i had room i would splash out on a 720 and get a dado head but space dosnt permit

i think for the sake of £14 i will give e bay a miss as another teir to go wrong

thank again for all you help chaps :D
