Hiya,
quick question really.. too late to do owt about it but just for future reference
Went to Halfords and after looking at the calcium ones and the top price ones got a basic battery after old one started failing.
After fitting it to my Nissan Micra (04 plate) and disposing of the battery at recycling point, I just thought.. will it be of the same spec. as the OEM battery? or should I have got the higher performance one?
the car does short trips of about 2/5miles about 5/7 times a day.

Not hard to start a petrol Micra, so you should be OK, no good going mad on a "fancy battery"

cheers Mursal,
Was just one of them doubting thoughts.. they have the basic one.. then tempt you with the fancy one.. then the extra fancy supa dooper one lol
Just the same spec. as the origional will do for me.

2 to 5 miles is probably more than enough to replace what you used starting, modern alternators have a very high output. A Mursal said petrol engines don't need a lot of power to start them so battery choice is not really critical - diesels are a different matter.
