Hello Gents,
Can I use a ordinary base cabinet to put an oven in (because I have one already) or do I need a proper housing cabinet. Whats the difference, presumably there is one so can you adapt them easily?
Many thanks.

Usually a single built-under oven isn't quite as high as a base unit, so as well as a shelf for the oven to sit on there's a small door/faceplate to fill in the gap.

my oven unit (in a rigid fitted kitchen) had a stronger shelf and different shelf supports, doubtless because of the extra weight, and was open at the back, presumably to aid ventilation.
