I have just bought a pair of new 2 Gang 2 Way light switches and instead on the three connections being marked L1, L2 and Com they are marked L1, L2 and L3. What is the difference?

Its just manufacturers way of confusing DIYers even more when they've just grasped how a lighting circuit is wired!
If in doubt always remember the terminals on a switch are arranged in a triangle (or they used to be, some still are!!!) The top terminal on the tri is always COM.

I've used MK's new switches. Yuck. The switch module is tiny, I cant see how it can be rated to 10 amps.Spark123 said:I take it you haven't used those cheap and nasty switches with the com and L1 at the same end
