Different spindle spacing question?

Hi,
I am looking at fitting spindels to a staircase that has no base rail. Buy this I mean the spindles will sit on the treads of the stair case. Please can some one explain how I am to work out the spindle gaps??

you have 2 choices realy
2 per tread evenly spaced or 95-97mm apart horizontaly that will look odd

what length are your treads nose to nose[tread minus the under nose measurement] what size are your spindles
