Difficulty getting Mira Go to work (faulty pull cord?)

Hi,
Our Mira Zest stopped working in the sense that water stopped coming out. Everything was checked and we figured the shower unit itself had failed so we bought a new Mira Go in the hope that the fixing holes and pipe inlet would be in the same place.Unfortunately we had to drill new holes. Once we had the new Mira Go connected to the water and elec we encountered the same problem (no water coming out). The light that surrounds the on button on the face of the shower flickers intermittntly.
The pull cord seems faulty in the sense that the light on it hardly ever comes on even when its in the on position. You have to really yank the cord to get it to work. We cannot hear anything inside the shower work i.e heating element working ect. We are thinking about taking the new mira go back to the shop.If this does not work we might bypass the cord and see if it is that which is causing the issues.Anybody got any suggestions?
