Does anyone know why fluorescent diffusers are so expensive? I was just looking in a trade catalogue and for some sizes a diffuser is almost as expensive as the fitting complete with tube. The fitting has a choke, capacitor, starter, metal casing, tube etc so must surely cost a lot more to manufacture than a bit of plastic extrusion and a couple of end caps?
