Trying to help my elderly neighbour with her erratic heating operation. It seems that the Drayton +2 keeps selecting the wrong clock time. I have reset to current time, but it subsequently reverts to something else. Any idea?

Thank you for responding, I reset it again making sure to go through the full sequence, and it held the time overnight, but lost it the following night, All the on-off information is retained. The difference between the two nights is that on the second night, the boiler timer would have switched off whereas on the the first night is was set for continuous. I tried switching it off for a short period, but that didn't cause a problem. Is there maybe an internal battery which may be losing charge? But why just a problem with the time and some of the date information, And it seems that the stat is not picking up the radio time signal if it does reset itself. Looks like I've gone as far as I can, and she will need to get somebody in. Would be interested on any further light you could throw in the matter.

If it's mains powered, there may well be a backup battery inside which may be flat. Don't actually know as I don't have one of these.

There are two versions, they can be identified by the internal wiring terminals.

If it's the mains version, is there another timeswitch or heating programmer somewhere, that worked in conjunction with a previous basic (ie non programmable) thermostat? If so, that timeswitch should be set to be 'on' permanently 24/7 to keep the Digistat permanently powered and the Digistat used to solely to control the heating temperatures and times.

Sometimes when a programmable thermostat is installed it replaces an old dial thermostat that is required to work in conjunction with a timeswitch which is sometimes left in circuit instead of it being removed. Programmable thermostats are not designed to work with a timeswitch; they are designed to be permanently powered and not switched on and off.
