Ok I give up - I need advice! I have 2 pairs of wall lights and the electrics on them have gone mental. Both are wall switched on seperate lighting circuits. Dimmers operate both (tho I am not sure of their rating). Both dimmers have blown (each has 4x40w bulbs). I guess that the dimmer was not rated high enough? So one day a dimmer packed in - it now just operates on/off. The next day, on another circuit, two wall lights on the same circuit decided to act indepenndently of each-other. When switched on, one was illuminted, but the other was not - I checked the latter with a current detector, and the power was coming through - but no bulb illumination.? ... Eh?

Do the fittings have switches built in to them? If you have a supply to them it must be the fittings that are faulty.
