dimmer switch (over 400W)

i have just fitted 9 x 50W mains voltage spotlights, and cannot find a dimmer switch with a rating over 400W. the only ones i can find are the \\\'touch \\\' type dimmers. does anyone know if the normal (chrome) type dimmers, with the turning knob, exist, and know where i can obtain one??

have you tried google? (you will want a 1000w dimmer)

second that bald electrician, just fitted one on friday. quite pricey.

you could bring the lamps down to 35w each if your not so concerned about light??
