My current dimmer switch (One knob) is scatched, the actuly knob is broken off, and all round pretty bad.

So, its time toi replace it. I an quite confortable with electrics, (can wire a plug, pond pumps etc) but i am by no means a pro!!

What I want is to replace the current dimmer switch like for like ie gold coloured, with on knob, BUT, also has a remote so I can control it from my chair!!!!

question 1 , I assume replacing a dimmer switch is straightforward. Is there anything to look out for when nuying one.

question 2, Re the IR and remote, i am assuming this does not require a seperate power source!!

Thanks in advance.

would a varilight touch dimmer not be of any use to you? remote controll and everyting?
