Dimplex Quantum storage heaters - I’m tearing my hair out

Thanks well two sets of electricians have he checked the four new circuits all the connections used meters etc and all deemed fin
Don't underestimate how lacking some 'electricians' are in understanding how things actually work and how to identify and fix problems.
Plenty are little more than fitters who can connect wires to known items and anything beyond that is a mystery.

it is likely as @flameport says that a neutral is the problem,

Would that not cause the trip every single time they were switched on?

In my earlier post, I suggested swapping the 16amp MCB, for a 20amp version. Re-reading what the OP actually wrote, the MCB's are actually - RCBO's, and so the 16amp RCBO, would need swapping for a 20amp version.

Thanks guys I need to sit in it but my logic would say that they would trip every time but I’m. No electrician thanks Harry that makes sense to me but all you input has been very helpful

You could try replacing the RBO on one of the circuit, as a test.

My theory is based on...

The resistance of a cold heating element, will be lower until warmed up. Lower resistance, equals higher current, the 14amps rating, could be quite a bit more, at initial switch on, enough to trip the RCBO.

another of the same 16amp but it looks different even though it’s got the same model number …. it never trips .

Presumably this one is a newer design. I wonder how old the other ones are, and where they came from?

If this were mine, I’d swap something around and see if that newer RCBO trips when connected to a different heater. But I don’t think you’ll want to do that yourself.

Thanks that’s very helpful I will have to get someone in I don’t dare risk it myself I’d be such a bag of nerves I’d get it wrong thanks again

Well I don’t know I’ve looked up that breaker and the model number and they all show the 230 v one where as god knows why u think it but the other looks. Newer to me they the three the same got delivered from the wholesaler along with a much lower amp one that the electrician initially fitted and naturally that did just constantly trip and when it was realised he ordered another and the different one came with the same model number

Ya swopped neutrals should be an instant trip here

If be dubious about a startup trip ,never heard of that issue

I haven't read all the thread but if you've got an rcd tripping occasionally then I'd definitely swap the rcd, one that tests out perfectly can still be faulty believe it or not.
