I've just done a bit of a Google, and found that Tony Christie DID release a song about Maria, called "I did what I did for Maria"... only the lyrics weren't QUITE as erm... passionate as those you list here. I don't want to make you angry... Adam, friend...

Quite frankly, I think anyone who releases a "novelty" record should be shot, burned, reconsituted and then hung. Apart from Spitting Image with their songs about South Africans. Leonard Nimoy should have been made to pay for his song about Bilbo Baggins. To**er.
