Do any of you remember a song called 'disco duck' from the early to mid 70's? - I think it got to number 1 in the charts.

It's just I was talking about this at work the other day........no one believed me that there was a song called disco duck.......they thought I was winding them up........me?......as if eh!

I know this is a long shot.......but does anyone know the words!

DD - Donald Duck voice]
[BS - background singers]
[EP - Elvis voice]

Went to a party the other night
All the ladies were treating me right
Moving my feet to the disco beat
How in the world could I keep my seat

All of a sudden I began to change
I was on the dance floor acting strange
Flapping my arms I began to cluck
Look at me..
I'm the disco duck

[DD:] Ah, get down, mama
I've got to have me a woman, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha
[BS:] Disco, disco duck

So I got back up to try my luck

I'm sure (if I remember correctly) that there used to be a big donald duck on the stage doing a charleston to the song and singing the chorus in a donald duck voice on top of the pops!!

I remember I used to have great big belly laughs when I watched it!!

The track is "Disco Duck" by Rick Dees and his Cast of Idiots. It reached number 6 on the 18th September '76 and remained on the chart for 9 weeks.

The lyrics are as per the link posted, and I have the track as an mp3 which I can happily email (hope you have broadband!) if you drop me a line on the address in my profile.

Handy having a DJ on the site who does Golden Oldies nights, eh?

nine

can you e-mail it to me, too? Thanks.

PS Who remembers The Bump?

FFS. I remember all the Shyte from the 70`s ....I was there  Kung fu fighting on Hastings seafront ...........The best bit was Mike Hailwood`s comeback on the Isle of Man...............made racing that big Ducati look like a weekend cruise 8)
