i'm just about to disconnect an electric shower, obviously when i take the unit off it will leave electrical wiring.

there is not going to be a new shower put in its place, what do i need to do with the redundant wires in order to isolate them safely

You need to completely remove the wire up to the shower switch. The switch can remain. If you want rid of the switch as well, take all of the circuit out.
