I am doing a bathroom but the person I am doing it for wants the electric shower moving. Can disconnect an electric shower and remove the shower unit then get a qualified electrician in to rewire the new shower or am I doing wrong by this.

Provided you know exactly how to safely and permanently isolate the circuit a discon of circuit isn't a problem.

Prudence would suggest you get a sparks to visit site, survey for new route and installation and do the disconnection for you.

That saves you any liability and offers the best result for your clients safety.

To drop costs when the sparks is doing the discon you can ask to run the cable 1st fix and save a few £££'s

If there's a local isolator switch, and if you know how to test for dead, then you don't need an electrician for any of this - all you need to do, after isolating the shower circuit at the consumer unit, is disconnect the cable feeding the shower at the isolator switch.

You can run a new cable section, of equivalent or higher gauge, from the new shower location back to the switch. For safety, connect the cable at the switch only when the shower unit is in place.

Thank you for your reply, I am confident of disconnecting the shower.
Have contacted an electrician tonight and he will come and run a new line in on the afternoon of the job. I just did not know if I could disconnect the shower then call an electrician in.
Information much appreciated Cheers.
