New to this game. Do the copper pipes pull straight out of the plastic push fittings? Do I need to replace an old plastic push fitting when putting in a new mixer tap or are they re-usable. How do you dismantle the fitting if it is jammed? grateful for any hints.

push type fittings use a 'o' ring to make the seal and a ring of serrated teeth to prevent the pipe coming out. to dismantle, the teeth have to be lifted by either pushing a sleeve or the use of special tool. All makes cater for dismantling as far as I know.
