Over the last week or so I have noticed that my built in dishwasher a Bosche Exxcel doesn't seem to be heating up the water. At the moment I have to pre-wash everything in the sink before I load the Dishwasher which is not really the point of the blessed thing ... or that water efficient!

Can anyone tell me if this is a case of having to change the heating element, and if so is that an expensive job, something I could do myself, or is it something a plumber would have to do if I get the part?

Ok I'll get on the phone to a Dishwasher engineer
thanks ..

Have you tried the troubleshooting section of your dishwasher manual?

Are you sure its the water not warming up enough?

I had a similar issue with my hotpoint this week (looked at it this week although problem had been going on for a while, but the wifes nagging got too much). The dishes were not cleaning properly. So i ran a wash with dishwasher cleaner, and also cleared out the holes from the "water jets" as they had slight buildup of scale.

Works fine now.

So try out the general troubleshooting if you havent already done so.

regards

Naz

Well the stainless steel sink drainer sited above the machine used to feel nice and war during the cycle ... and now never warms up at all. Opening the door at various intervals through also showed only cold water is being used.
The jets are pretty clean (...mainly 'cause I'm washing the dishes of any foodstuff in the sink before I load the washer!!)

fault is either
Element , thermostat or circuit board
easy enough to check
