Hi

We've had a dishwasher for 2 years now and its recently started making a slightly fishy smell when its just been run.

What could be causing that and is there an easy way to mitigate/remove it?

Some of the plastics used in motors and winding insulation can give off this smell if they are overheating a bit.....it could mean impending trouble at some time.

Thanks for that Burnerman. :)

We ran it without anything in it on 75 degree wash (we normally use the economy 40 degree wash) and upon opening it it smelled ok.

However, we then restocked it and ran it again on 75 degree wash and when it had JUST finished (i.e. we opened it immediately once the cycle had complete) it smelt ok (didn't take stuff out immediately), but 15 minutes later it was back to smelling fishy.

Does this indicate it could be something else?
