How can I dispose of an old tarmac driveway? I don't think my local amenity centre (in Cumbria) will take it and am struggling to find out how to get rid of it. I'm sure last time I had a skip they told me no tarmac.

Take a photo, put it on gumtree, free hardcore/infill.

Even better if you can offer loading with the digger when it's there.

Clean hardcore taken free near me, just have to deliver to their skip.
Ask the skip company dont trust the ad. Ours let me skip plasterboard as long as it was bagged and placed on top.

Look up "grab hire" or "grab hire rubble removal".

Make a pile of the tarmac at end of drive, and the will remove.

I tend to send them photos of rubble and tell them to come t when they are passing to get a slightly better quote or more helpful driver.

Is it classed as rubble / hardcore then? I can take that to the tip but thought tarmac would not be accepted (no mention of it on the council website).

Can't use tarmac as hardcore. Well not under concrete

Get a skip or bag. Skip works out cheaper. Depends on amount. Ton bag here is £96

Farmer will take it for gate entrances if you can contact one.
