Distance from Hob

When installing a hob, its recomended that you keep all sockets etc 300mm each side from it. If the hob was installed at the front of a worktop and the socket was directly behind it but 300mm away would that be ok?
 
I'd go with no, the 300mm guideline is supposed to stop you reaching across a hot hob to plug stuff in, or trailing flexes across the same
 
What about if it was just an isolator switch which wasn't directly behind it, but say 100mm to side but at least 300mm in all directions. Isolator to turn on/off oven under worktop
