Hello,

Just started laying some oiled distressed engineered oak. Some of the edges have quite a few splinters in them. Is this normal for distressed oak?

They look great but not sure if I'm going to be forever getting splinters in my feet.

The wood is quite dark so not sure if I rub down the edges they will be a different colour

Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Is it normal, Pass, but I would guess it can happen in the distressing process, but something they can then correct, I don't see any reason why not.

Likely they will be, ask the supplier if they are stained/oiled/fumed so that you can match the fresh surfaces (or tell them to do it).
