Hi,

I want to install an electric shower. The electric shower (10.5 kw) will of course come with it's own shower head. I want to add an additional larger overhead shower head which will be fixed to the wall.

Can I connect the outlet of the electric shower and connect it to the divertor so that I can switch to whichever of the shower heads I want. Is this possible or indeed legal?

Electric showers generally do not provide a strong flow rate so you may struggle with anything other than what the manufacturer provides or advises. Electric heating elements do not like any restrictions as the heat builds up in the exchanger and usually blows off the over pressure unit.

I would advise against it.

If you think you will get a larger flow then you will be disappointed!

10 kW will only heat about 5 litres per minute and thats all you will get !
