The trouble with Cooker Control Units (CCU1) is that they are often present in existing installs, so when fitting replacement Consumer Control Units (CCU2), you have to consider whether RCD-protection is necessary.

Flats are are tricky one, yes. But easy to get round that one - ALWAYS use the Landlord's supply!!
