Dizzy Dogs?

Its worse than losing people, for me.
I agree and sympathise.

I was also saddened to read your dog became poorly and passed.

I hope your new best friend lives for many years to come.

Mine is 14 years old and has cataracts, hearing loss, arthritis in both front and back legs, a heart murmur and also bouts of pancreatitis but will still boss me around. Cocker Spaniels are willful to say the least.

My mums dog started showing similar symptoms on Saturday. 13 year old Shih-tzu. Back legs a bit wobbly. Vet checked her over, noticed her head slightly to one side and a regular flicker in her eyes and suspected a brain bleed. Only way to confirm was with MRI but said nothing could be done if the worse was confirmed. Gradually worsened and this morning she was put to sleep. My mum is housebound but I was with the dog right to the end. Bloody heartbreaking but almost straight after I had a feeling of relief as she wasn’t suffering anymore.

Dogs hide it so well. It sounds like you had a decent vet. Ours seemed to want to just £££run up the insurance claim.

I have concluded the cause of death was likely a tumour or cyst. Dogs are very good at hiding pain.

Very sorry to hear this Mottie. I hope your Mum is OK too.

sorry to hear that and sorry for your loss.

It's like falling off a bike, you get up and straight back on the bike, so with a dog you get another - no need to leave that hole in your heart empty, fill it with a new loving furball.

Years ago, I had to leave my dog with someone else when I moved to a different town to study.

When I eventually came back, he was in a poor condition and within a month he died.

Sad thing was I trained him like a master would do and he would obey everything I said.

A lot of people, pets, and animals have passed away and so will us one day.

Well, she’s just come off insurance - it had gone up to £275 per month. Her heart meds, scans etc were coming to £150 a month which the insurance were forking out for so she expected a big jump up in premiums.
