Hoping you can help. We're doing major refurbishment to our semi-detached (2 storey side and part single part double rear, plus new roof and removing chimney stacks) and I was just wondering whether we'll need a temporary roof?

Works will be starting in March.

Depends how much work is happening on the roof. If the rafters, ridge etc are staying then big tarps over the top will keep the worst of the weather out. Otherwise you might want to budget for the extra scaff and sheeting required to enclose the job completely (which might actually make the job cheaper- no time lost unsheeting in the morning/resheeting at night/rain stopping play)
EDIT Unless the place is a mansion then a competent team should be able to strip existing, batten and felt in a day. The chimney removal might slow things down a bit

Hi, thanks for your response, we'll budget for worst case but it seems it's not a must have. Thanks
