Do I Need Lime in Mortar For Single Skin Block Shed

I am building a part block part wood shed in my garden. The block walls will be about 3 -4 courses high and single skinned. A timber frame will be mounted on top of these walls clad with T&G.
For the mortar mix when building these walls do I need to add lime? If so at what ratio?

Just use plasticizer instead - cheaper and easier.

Most houses built up to 1939 were built using lime mortar.
