Do I need to seal gap between paving slabs and house wall?

Recently moved into a new house, I pointed up the paving slabs up to the house last winter, apparently wasn’t the best thing to do due to movement and it would just crack, it did and now I’m back at square one.

You can see the wet where the cerment was. Question is does this actually need pointing up? I was going to put external joint silicone on it to seal it up but I’m just wondering is it best just to leave it? I’m just worried about rain running down there that’s all gap is around 2mm in places on the corner it’s slightly larger as you can see but I’m presuming I can just drop some cerment into this to make it closer to the wall without touching
