Hi,
If a radiator is removed and the water just poured out, does it need to be sealed to prevent internal corrosion?

I removed a radiator a couple of days ago, and it will probably not be put back for a few days.

Does the radiator need to be sealed? I have now put on a couple of stop end caps.

Is there anything else I need to do?

OldKettle, good evening.

If the Rad is removed but not capped then it it a certainty that corrosion will occur, you are correct in capping off the inlet / outlet, that will slow down the worst effects of internal rusting.

Is it possible, if you are to re-fit the rad that you fill the rad with water with some flushing fluid mixed into the water?, why because the flushing fluid will assist in stripping any attaching gunge away from all internal surfaces of the Rad.
