Hi all

My sitting room radiator is cold!
All other radiators are fine, nice and hot. I have tried turning the gauge at the end of the radiator, up and down a few times and nothing happened.

A few weeks ago, to try and solve this problem, I bled it until it appeared empty and the water started to bleed out warm. I turned the pressure back up and left it for a while but it stayed cold.
Today, again, I bled it and this time stopped when the water was getting warm. What I noticed was the top of the radiator was warm but the bottom was still cold.
I 've left it for a while and it's gone cold again
Any advice?

The valve you're referring to as having a "gauge" is probably a thermostatic valve. Take it's head off (unscrew, or undo clamp, etc) You'll see a pin which should sprring up and down if pushed hard, they stick down. Push hard a few times, tap, wiggle etc and you might get lucky. If you grab and pull with pliers you'll either get lucky, or more likely, wet.

Otherwise, new valve required.
